Rezard Vareth. For Challenge of the King, does being in a besieged Minas Tirith count as being in a "Gondor or Rohan region"? I note that Minas Tirith would in this case be a "free region" (i.e., devoid of enemy units) for the SP for all other purposes. But I wasn't sure if a besieged stronghold is considered part of the region it is in.
Having now watched dozens of hours I have seen one common Shadow theme that I would like to bring up for discussion. After literally a lifetime of playing wargames especially pre gunpowder wargames you get to know your way around forts, garrisons, and sieges. What you learn is any garrisoned fortress/ fort is an order of magnitude more defended
From the second I laid eyes upon the Oliphaunt-sized War of the Ring box, I knew it had to be mine one day. Enough plastic bits to bathe in, a gargantuan board covered in a detailed map of Middle-Earth, and giant cards and beautiful dice and tokens and--yeah, it simply had to be mine. I received the second edition as a Christmas gift.
No, you do not need the 2nd edition upgrade (to play the 1st edition as the 2nd edition). Having played only the 2nd edition I would never go back and play with the 1st edition rules, the changes are that good. georgios @kukugames. 2. how to do a homemade upgrade kit. its not easy to find/buy it in my country.

Been hoping that a digital version of the game would get developed that supports async play, like the excellent Twilight Struggle App, but I don’t think there is one? It would have to support async as I can normally only play for short periods at a time. Tip.
I would sell the first edition, and buy the 2nd edition, however it seems like you would only be able to play this game once a year, or so. If that is true, I'd just keep the 1st edition. The upgrade pack just balances some of the cards, and clarifies some rules, and makes the cards bigger.
In general, my understanding is that in order to play an event card that requires that a specific companion is in a location, then that card cannot be played if the specified companion is still part of the fellowship, even if the fellowship is in that location. When you have a chance, please reply and confirm this understanding.
It was a great rule question afterall. Separate from the Fellowship one Companion or group of Companions. You may move them one extra region. Then, if Gimli or Legolas are in Dale, Erebor or the Woodland Realm, activate the North and Dwarven Nations and advance the Dwarven, the Elven the North Nations one step each on the.
